David’s grand fiesta celebrates
50th anniversary this year

You can’t miss it!. The David International Fair, one of Panama’s three most important annual country fairs celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Therefore, the fair’s organizers will double the number and quality of the scheduled events, which will take place March 10-20.

Just as with similar fairs taking place around the country during the season, the David International Fair has evolved, from a mainly agricultural event to a grand party with a complete array of activities for all ages and preferences, such as rock concerts, folklore dance shows, games, dog shows, and acrobatic performances. Activities will also include numerous exhibits from a number of Latin American countries.

The city of David is a six-to-seven hour drive from Panama City via the Pan-American Highway. The third-largest urban center in the republic, David is the capital of a prosperous province, the residents of which are the proud producers of a large percentage of the country’s agricultural crops and beef.

David is served by a number of good hotels, one of which is Grand Hotel Nacional, a long established hostelery in the province.

Visitors can either drive a rented car or take a bus to Chiriqui’s capital. An excellent service of comfortable buses departs from the National Bus Terminal, located in Albrook. There are also daily scheduled flights departing from the Marcos A. Gelabert airport, also located in Albrook.
