The construction
of two new hotels in the Panama City area is nearing completion. The
first is the Via Venetto Hotel & Casino, a five-star, 17-story
complex located on Calle Eusebio A. Morales, in the heart of Vía
España’s financial district.
Built
with a 40-million-dollar investment, the new facility will feature
301 bedrooms, a business center, four restaurants and a huge casino
(4,000 square meters).
The second
property, the Playa Bonita Beach Resort, is scheduled to open in December.
The first major beach project of the metro area, this all-inclusive
facility is built by Empresas Bern (the parent company of the Miramar
Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza, and Gamboa Resort, among other hotels).
The project is located in the former U.S. Army base of Ft. Kobbe,
near the western entrance of the Panama Canal and approximately 8
km. from downtown Panama City.
