July 6:

Don’t miss it: Olga Tañón at Figali Convention Center

Olga Tañón

Olga Tañón, perhaps the most popular female voice in the Latin tropical music world, will offer her latest hits at Figali Convention Center on Thursday, July 6.

Born in Puerto Rico in 1967, Olga discovered her talent singing in her church’s choir at age 8, but became an international star in 1992, the year she launched her first album "Sola" (Lonely), which soon went platinum with the sale of 100,000 copies in the United States and Puerto Rico.

The release of "Sola" introduced Olga to the world of Merengue –a Latin rhythm generally dominated by male singers.

Seven years later, one of Olga’s greatest dreams came true: the release of her first album recorded live: "Olga Viva, Viva Olga" (1999).

Olga Tañón is an accomplished artist. She won the Grammy Award for "Best Latin Album" in two consecutive years (2001 and 2002).
