There are
many ways in which expats can make new friends and get used to their
new home in Panama. One of them is learning the arts and crafts offered
at Graphic Shop, located on Vía Porras, a couple blocks from
Parque Omar.
Opened
by Mrs. Marta de Sosa 15 years ago, Graphic Shop offers courses in
painting, scrapbook making, pottery, soap and candle making, Oregami,
foam ornaments, Christmas motifs and 20 other crafts. Its expert instructor
are not only bilingual, but many are fluent in other languages as
well. Schedules are flexible. Those interested need only to register
by phone (270-1790) or e-mail: manualidades@grashop.com
The courses,
are also an excellent extra-curricular activity for school-age children.
Mrs. Sosa
underlines the "therapeutic" properties of arts and crafts.
"Learning an art or a craft is excellent for stress. Many top
banking executives enrolled in our courses. Men seem to be more interested
in soap and candle making," she said.
Graphic
Shop imports top-quality materials from around the world and its staff
constantly travels abroad to learn about the latest trends and techniques
in the field. "We have the most complete stock of arts &
crafts merchandise in Central and South America," he explained.
The store

graduations, birthdays and other important events.
