A healthy life with Organica

Orgánica is the only store in Panama where all the products are totally organic, without preservatives or chemicals. The variety is huge and you can find products from homeopathic remedies, toilet rolls without chlorine to fruits and vegetables grown without fertilizers or insecticides.

The owners, María Victoria Delgado, Analisa de Díaz and María Elena González Revilla opened the store two years ago. They starting by selling dietetic products, but as time went by and they began to go to fairs in the United States, they realized the importance of the organic products market.

These foods and products are healthy, low in sugar, low in fat, without chemicals, but most of all they taste good.

María Victoria said that her company is helping low-income farmers, who produce organic fruits and vegetables, by financing projects and guiding them, so they can obtain the organic products international certification. They also teach them to negotiate the best price for their produce.

In addition of selling fruits, vegetables and various items; Orgánica also distributes them to other supermarkets like Riba Smith.

Maria Victoria and her partners also support projects for sustainable farms like Hogares Crea, where free range laying chickens are raised without hormones and antibiotics. Poultry and eggs from these farms are sold in their shop.

Analisa, another of the owners, explains that the popularity of the organic product has been growing in Panama during the last few years. It has been proved that this type of diet may control diabetes, infertility and allergies. "At the beginning our clientele were mostly foreigners, now half of them are Panamanians", she said.

Orgánica has bilingual personnel, especially trained to answer all types of question. It sells products from the brands Silk, Nature Path y Bionature among others. The shop is located in Calle Ramón H. Jurado, Centro Comercial Paitilla Mall in Punta del Este.
