Now, Los Mandarinos boutique hotel offers sophisticated spa

The Anton Valley is renowned for its natural beauty and spring-like climate. A recent addition to these attractions is the hotel-boutique and spa Los Mandarinos, which combines sophistication, relaxation and beauty.

Constructed in a rustic Tuscan style, it has 17 rooms, an ample terrace with a capacity for 200 people; a meeting room, conference room and a spa that offers specialized treatments.

One of specialties of the spa is the “Anti-aging Thermae Spa treatment”,the secret of which, says the management, is the stimulation and development of the capacities and energies in existence within the body. They claim this slows down the aging process in a natural way.

The spa of Los Mandarinos has two beauty rooms, where physiotherapists offer facials, massages and body treatments. It also has a thermal circuit which comprises sauna, Turkish bath, sequential bio-thermic shower and jacuzzi to obtain the maximum benefits of the “therapeutic, purifying and relaxing properties of the water”.

Another treatment on offer is the “Natural Color Mud”, which beautifies the skin by increasing the minerals and oligo-elements reserves in the skin, preventing and solving problems such as acne, celulitis, flaccidity and stress.

Los Mandarinos is also famous for its restaurant, Casa de Lourdes with food prepared by Lourdes de Ward, creator of the Panama City restaurant “Golosi-nas”. The restaurant offers complete packages for weddings, parties or any other events, that include music, food, drinks and rooms.

To get to "Los Mandarinos", leave the Panamerican Highway just after San Carlos. A sign shows the road to El Valle. Drive for 28 kilometers. When you reach El Valle turn to the right just before the Hong Kong supermarket. Drive for another two kilometers until you arrive at the street of “Primer Ciclo El Valle”. Boulevard Balboa is back

Ten months after it closed the Boulevard Balboa restaurant has re-opened in a new location, still on Avenida Balboa, with the same ambiance, same food and the same waiters.

The only difference apart from the change of address, is its size: it has more tables, an enormous terrace with sea view and underground parking.

The Boulevard belongs to three brothers-in-law who have worked together for more than 50 years. Now their sons and grandsons are helping with the operation of this successful place. The restaurant has only closed three times in 57 years.

Manuel Muradas, one of the Boulevard´s owners, said that he was surprised with the welcome the people have given to the new restaurant. Muradas thinks that the success of the Boulevard is due to its food, prepared with fresh ingredient and the familiar atmosphere that makes people feel at home. “Even the politicians have returned”, he said.

The more popular dishes are the Cuban sandwich and the seafood soup, that according to Don Manuel are internationally famous, because tourists come to the Boulevard asking specifically for these specialties.

“La Cervecería”, a bar with Peruvian flavor

The pub bar “La Cervecería”, which offers a selection of Peruvian dishes, national and international liqueurs and beers, recently opened for business. The bar, which has a capacity for 200 people, has special events from Monday to Saturday, with happy hours every day, live music, karaoke and dance competitions.

“La Cerveceria” is available for parties and will give prizes to the organizers of events. Furthermore, “La Cerveceria” invites customers every Monday to celebrate their birthday with food combos and “cubetazos of Balboa beer”.

The entrance is free and the pub opens from Monday to Friday from 5:00 p.m. It is located next to the Radison Decapolis Hotel and smoking is not allowed.
