Puerta de Tierra Steak House

I haven´t managed to figure out the reason why Venezuelan chef Frank Escalona and his wife Luciana called their restaurant "Puerta de Tierra" which, literally translated, could mean "Doorway to the earth".

It is, however, a distinctive name for an eclectic and unusual restauant. Its other unique feature also concern doors. Its main door is beside La Merced Church on Calle 9 and Avenida Central in Casco Viejo. Another door is in nearby Plaza Herrera and is the entrance to a new dining area added to the original restauant. It is really two separates restaurants connected in the middle by the kitchen. Getting tourists to the interior

The goverment is working on better access for tourists to the interior destinations of Panama.

The Minister of Tourism, Salomon Shamah invited the press to a breakfast conference recently to outline plans for airline connectivity to David, Bocas del Toro and Pedasi so that Panama´s interior can be adequately marketed. More [+]
